But, overall, Steam and other launchers work just fine on the Ally, while also feeling a tiny bit clunky at the best of times. There’s still plenty to love, and the Ally has a clear ambition to be a jack-of-all-trades handheld device, while in comparison the Steam Deck specializes in being a portable Steam machine, with the added bonus of other launchers if you’re willing to tinker.
